Why Routine Vehicle Maintenance Matters
Routine vehicle maintenance isn’t simply about checking items off a list. It helps protect the systems that keep your vehicle reliable, efficient, safe, and enjoyable to drive.
Routine maintenance matters. The California Bureau of Automotive Repair recommends following your vehicle’s maintenance requirements, including changing Engine Oil as recommended, using your vehicle’s maintenance reminder system, and performing regular maintenance checks.
Fluids lubricate, cool, clean, protect, and transfer hydraulic force throughout a vehicle. However, heat, time, moisture, contamination, and normal operation gradually degrade them. Filters also become restricted as they collect dirt and debris. Meanwhile, spark plugs wear as they perform millions of ignition cycles.
Therefore, ignoring maintenance can allow relatively simple service needs to contribute to accelerated wear, poor performance, reduced efficiency, or expensive repairs.
However, maintenance needs aren’t identical for every vehicle. Mileage, age, manufacturer recommendations, operating conditions, vehicle design, and previous service history all matter.
At Temecula Auto Repair & Transmission, we believe in maintaining vehicles based on their actual needs, not simply selling services because a vehicle reaches an arbitrary mileage.
Our Auto Care Rewards Program makes staying ahead of those maintenance needs a little more rewarding.
Oil & Filter Change
Engine Oil performs one of the hardest jobs in your vehicle. It lubricates moving Engine components, helps control heat, suspends contaminants, and reduces internal friction and wear.
However, as Engine Oil ages, heat and contamination gradually reduce its ability to perform these jobs effectively. Also, the Oil Filter captures contaminants circulating through the lubrication system.
Routine Oil & Filter Changes help protect internal Engine components and support long-term Engine reliability.
Our team can also help determine an appropriate service interval based on your vehicle, Oil specification, mileage, driving habits, and manufacturer recommendations.
Transmission Fluid Exchange Service
Your Transmission depends on the proper fluid for lubrication, cooling, hydraulic operation, and internal component protection.
Over time, Transmission Fluid experiences repeated heat cycles and collects contaminants from normal Transmission operation. Thus, as the fluid deteriorates, its protective and performance characteristics can decline.
A Transmission Fluid Exchange Service, when appropriate for the vehicle, replaces deteriorated fluid with the correct fluid specification and helps support smooth operation and long-term Transmission life.
Because Transmission designs and service requirements vary considerably, we evaluate the vehicle and its service history before recommending the appropriate maintenance.
Brake Fluid Exchange Service
Brake Fluid transfers hydraulic pressure from the Brake Pedal to the vehicle’s braking components. Therefore, it must perform reliably under high temperatures and demanding conditions.
Brake Fluid is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture over time. Excess moisture can lower the fluid’s boiling point and contribute to internal corrosion within hydraulic Brake System components.
A Brake Fluid Exchange Service removes old fluid and replaces it with fresh fluid that meets the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
In summary, routine Brake Fluid maintenance helps protect the hydraulic Brake System and supports dependable braking performance.
Coolant Exchange Service
Your vehicle’s Cooling System does much more than prevent the Engine from overheating.
Engine Coolant helps regulate operating temperature while also protecting Cooling System components against corrosion, deposits, freezing, and other deterioration.
However, Coolant does not retain its protective properties indefinitely.
A Coolant Exchange Service replaces aged Coolant with the correct type and concentration for the vehicle. Most importantly, proper Cooling System maintenance helps protect components such as the Radiator, Water Pump, Heater Core, Engine passages, hoses, and other Cooling System components.
In short, maintaining the correct Coolant can play an important role in preventing expensive Cooling System and Engine problems.
Differential Fluid Exchange Service
Your vehicle’s Differential allows the drive wheels to rotate at different speeds while transmitting power to the wheels.
Inside the Differential, gears and bearings operate under significant pressure. Differential Fluid provides the lubrication and protection these components require.
However, heat, mileage, and contamination gradually reduce the fluid’s effectiveness.
A Differential Fluid Exchange Service removes aged lubricant and replaces it with the correct fluid for the vehicle. Thus, performing this maintenance helps protect gears and bearings against unnecessary wear.
Depending on the drivetrain, a vehicle may have a Front Differential, Rear Differential, or both.
Transfer Case Fluid Exchange Service
Four-wheel-drive and many all-wheel-drive vehicles use a Transfer Case to distribute power between the front and rear axles.
The Transfer Case contains internal components that depend on the correct lubricant for cooling, lubrication, and protection.
A Transfer Case Fluid Exchange Service replaces deteriorated fluid with the proper specification for the vehicle.
In summary, regular Transfer Case maintenance can help reduce internal wear and protect an important, and potentially expensive, part of the drive-train.
Power Steering Fluid Exchange Service
Vehicles equipped with hydraulic Power Steering depend on Power Steering Fluid to transmit hydraulic pressure while lubricating and protecting system components.
However, heat, age, contamination, and normal operation can cause the fluid to deteriorate.
A Power Steering Fluid Exchange Service removes aged fluid and replaces it with the correct fluid for the vehicle.
Fresh fluid can help protect components such as the Power Steering Pump, Steering Gear or Rack & Pinion Unit, hoses, seals, and other hydraulic components.
Not every modern vehicle uses hydraulic Power Steering, so this service only applies to vehicles equipped with a serviceable hydraulic system.
Fuel System & Induction System Cleaning Service
Air and fuel must flow properly for an Engine to operate efficiently.
Over time, deposits can accumulate within applicable areas of the Fuel and Air Induction Systems. Depending on the vehicle and Engine design, deposits can affect airflow, fuel delivery, combustion quality, throttle response, and overall Engine performance.
A Fuel System/Induction System Cleaning Service uses professional service procedures and products to clean applicable components and help reduce accumulated deposits.
To summarize, this service can play an important role in preventative maintenance, particularly when vehicle design, mileage, operating conditions, or observed deposits support the need.
Spark Plug Replacement
Spark Plugs ignite the air-fuel mixture inside a gasoline Engine thousands of times during even a short drive.
Eventually, electrodes wear and the gap can increase. Worn Spark Plugs may contribute to difficult starting, misfires, reduced performance, poor fuel economy, and additional stress on Ignition System components.
Thus, replacing Spark Plugs at the appropriate interval helps maintain consistent ignition and proper Engine operation.
Our Spark Plug Replacement Service uses the correct Spark Plug type and specification for the application while following vehicle-specific service procedures.
Engine Air Filter Replacement
Your Engine needs a large volume of clean air to operate properly.
The Engine Air Filter traps dust, dirt, insects, and other airborne debris before those contaminants can enter the Engine.
So, as the filter accumulates debris, airflow can become restricted.
Replacing a dirty Engine Air Filter helps maintain proper airflow while protecting sensitive Engine and Air Induction System components from contamination.
We inspect the condition of the filter and recommend replacement when required rather than automatically replacing it based solely on mileage.
Cabin Air Filter Replacement
The Cabin Air Filter cleans air entering the passenger compartment through the Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning System.
It can capture dust, pollen, dirt, leaves, and other airborne debris. As the filter becomes loaded, airflow through the vents may decrease.
Routine Cabin Air Filter Replacement helps maintain proper HVAC airflow and keeps excessive debris from accumulating in the system.
Some vehicles use specialized particulate or activated-carbon Cabin Air Filters. When applicable, we can install the correct filter for the vehicle.

How do I earn stamps?
You earn one stamp for each qualifying paid maintenance service completed at Temecula Auto Repair & Transmission. We stamp your Auto Care Rewards Card when the qualifying service is completed.
Can I earn more than one stamp during the same visit?
Yes. Each qualifying maintenance service earns a stamp. For example, if you have a Transmission Fluid Exchange, Brake Fluid Exchange, and Coolant Exchange performed during the same visit, you earn three stamps.
What happens after I collect 8 stamps?
Once you have collected 8 qualifying service stamps, your next qualifying maintenance service is free, up to a $250 value. Present your completed Auto Care Rewards Card when you redeem your reward.
Does the free service have to be one of the same services I previously purchased?
No. Your reward may be applied toward any qualifying maintenance service included in the Auto Care Rewards Program, subject to the $250 maximum reward value.
What if my free maintenance service costs more than $250?
We’ll apply the full $250 Auto Care Rewards benefit, and you simply pay the remaining balance. For example, if your qualifying service totals $290, the Rewards Program covers $250 and you pay the remaining $40.
What if the service I choose costs less than $250?
The program covers the cost of that qualifying service. Any unused portion of the $250 maximum value does not carry over and has no cash value. For example, if you redeem your reward for a $220 qualifying service, the service is free, but the remaining $30 cannot be applied toward another service.
Can I use the reward toward repairs or diagnostic services?
No. The Auto Care Rewards Program applies specifically to the qualifying maintenance services listed in the program. Repairs, Testing & Evaluation, diagnostic services, tires, alignments, Smog Checks, and other non-qualifying services do not earn stamps and cannot be selected as the free service.

No. The free maintenance reward cannot be combined with other discounts, coupons, promotional offers, or special pricing.
Do I need to present my Rewards Card?
Yes. Please bring your original Auto Care Rewards Card so we can stamp it when qualifying services are completed and verify the eight stamps when you redeem your reward.
What happens if I lose my Rewards Card?
Lost, stolen, or damaged Rewards Cards cannot be replaced because the physical card provides the record of earned stamps.
Can I receive credit for maintenance services performed before I received my Rewards Card?
No. The Auto Care Rewards Program begins when the Rewards Card is issued. Previous services do not qualify for retroactive stamps.
Can I earn stamps for more than one vehicle?
Yes. Qualifying maintenance performed on vehicles associated with your household may earn stamps on the same Rewards Card.
Does my Auto Care Rewards Card expire?
No. Your Auto Care Rewards Card does not expire. Keep it with your vehicle records and bring it whenever you visit us for qualifying maintenance.
Does an Oil & Filter Change count the same as a Transmission Fluid Exchange?
Yes. Each qualifying maintenance service earns one stamp, regardless of the price of that service. That’s deliberately simple: one qualifying service equals one stamp.
Can I earn multiple stamps for replacing both my Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air Filter?
Under the straightforward one qualifying service = one stamp rule, yes. Engine Air Filter Replacement and Cabin Air Filter Replacement are separate qualifying services and would earn one stamp each.
Can the $250 reward be exchanged for cash or account credit?
No. Auto Care Rewards have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be converted into a credit toward future purchases.
Can I earn a stamp if I supply my own parts or fluids?
No. Reward stamps apply only to qualifying maintenance services performed using the parts, fluids, and materials supplied by Temecula Auto Repair & Transmission. This ensures we can stand behind the complete service and the products used.
